Management Team

Patrick Womack, Founder, President and Chairman

Mr. Womack is a serial entrepreneur and the founder of UNI Royalties Inc., President of the Company and has served as Chairman of the Board since its inception. UNI Royalties Inc., formerly UNI Royalties, Ltd., is a Denver, Colorado based oil and gas minerals acquisitions and divestitures company that has completed more than 575 acquisition and divestiture transactions with properties in over 16 states in more than 400 counties with more than 25,000 producing oil and gas wells through affiliate companies since 2008 under Mr. Womack’s management.

Mr. Womack has been actively involved in building oil and gas, online marketing, web and technology companies for more than 16 years. Since June 2018, he has served as the Chief Investment Officer and a Managing Partner of Mavic Capital, LLC, a Denver, Colorado based company that specializes in key performance indicators (KPI’s) and performance analysis for strategic capital investments in both tangible and intangible assets worldwide.

Mr. Womack also formerly served as the Chief Executive Officer of Red Rhino Games, Inc., a mobile and desktop game developer located in located in Denver, Colorado. Through its subsidiaries and/or affiliates and/or partnerships, Red Rhino Games accumulated more than 276 million downloads from more than 200 plus mobile and desktop apps and games on iOS, Google Play, Mac and Amazon app stores from 2008 through 2018 under Mr. Womack’s management.

Soban Ahmad, Director of Finance and Compliance

Mr. Ahmad joined UNI Royalties Inc., in December 2019 as Director of Finance to provide analytical support and oversee the financial aspects of the business. His experience includes providing valuation and strategic advisory to holding companies, family offices and individual investors on M&A transactions worth around $500M across Middle East, APAC & North America in the oil & gas, airline, traffic Management, Saas and telecommunications industries.

Prior to joining UNI Royalties, Mr. Ahmad worked as an analyst at Synergistic Financial Advisors - a leading regional advisory boutique, and associate at Al Meezan Investment Management. He has graduated with a degree in accounting & finance from Curtin University and is currently pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst Program, USA. He is also active in the fintech & online marketplace startup arena and is currently helping multiple startups with financial planning and fundraising.

Jay Hanna, Chief Financial Officer

Jay Hanna MS, CPA, CMA Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining UNI Royalties Inc, Mr. Hanna built Hanna, Warner & Associates CPAs PC to over 900 clients in 20 states. Mr. Hanna has over 40 years of experience in accounting, taxation, IRS audit assistance, business consulting, and systems implementation. The firm employs CPAs, a CMA, an EA with USTCP licensure and a full time staff with finance and accounting degrees.

Mr. Hanna's firm held memberships in the AICPA, Institute of Management Accountants and Colorado Society of CPAs, complete over 80 hours of continuing professional education per year and participate in a peer review program for attestation services.

Brad Peterson, VP Operations Management and Secretary

Mr. Peterson has been involved with oil and gas mineral acquisitions and divestitures for UNI Royalties, Ltd since 2010, having participated in over 250 property transactions covering 16 states and more than 300 counties or parishes. Mr. Peterson has also aided in the raising of capital and the marketing of various oil and gas investments during his tenure.

Prior to joining UNI Royalties, Ltd, Mr. Peterson brought over 20 years of business experience, having success in Sales and Operational Management for a Fortune 500 transportation company; Manager of Operations for an Industrial HVAC wholesale company in Denver, CO; Sales and Clinical Administration for a Surgical Clinic in Denver, CO; and a Colorado licensed insurance agent in the financial services industry.

Mr. Peterson is a graduate of Regis University with a BS in Business Administration and Economics.

Richard Merrill, Oil & Gas General Legal Counsel

Richard Merrill, Oil & Gas General Legal Counsel. Mr. Merrill, a Partner with the law firm of Fabio & Merrill in Houston, Texas has 44 years of extensive experience with oil and gas legal matters. He formerly served as an in-house counsel with several Major and Large Exploration and Production Companies. Since starting his private practice in 1983, Mr. Merrill has provided legal services for numerous oil and gas related clients. Client services include handling litigation, both trial and appellate; preparing, reviewing, and negotiating leases, assignments, farmouts, operating agreements, sales/acquisitions of producing properties, and myriad other types of contracts relating to exploration and production activities, examining titles, and occasionally appearing before various regulatory agencies. Mr. Merrill received his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College and his law degree from the University of Texas, School of Law.

He has received licenses to practice law in the States of Texas and New Hampshire, Commonwealth of Massachusetts, U. S. District Courts for the Southern, Western and Northern Districts of Texas, and the U. S Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Steven O’Rourke Corporate Counsel and Securities

Mr. O’Rourke is a licensed attorney in the state of California who provides the Company with corporate transactional advice. Mr. O’Rourke has over 40 years of corporate law experience, having had lead-lawyer responsibility and authority at the highest level of international bank lending and project finance. He led globally syndicated financing of various nations and industries for many of the largest U.S. and Japanese banks. In his private practice, he designs, negotiates and implements legal aspects of the company life-cycle of privately-held companies. Mr. O’Rourke advises in structuring entity formations and stages from startup, equity issuance, corporate governance, preferred-issuance in investment-fund rounds, voting agreements, annual meetings, stock plans, indemnities, IP assignments, contracts and final exits by sales of assets to, and mergers with, publicly-traded and private buyers.

Mr. O’Rourke has represented clients in business transactions in the U.S., Europe, Asia and Australia. He holds a B.Sc. degree in Industrial Management (Corporate Finance) from Purdue University and he received his J.D. degree from Vanderbilt University. In addition, he earned Professional Designations in Systems Management and in Applications Programming from UCLA Extension.

Laurence Singer, Web IP Advertising Legal Counsel

Mr. Singer has counseled and advised clients in legal matters, business operations and strategic planning for over 40 years. Receiving a law degree from The Georgetown University Law Center in 1969, Mr. Singer specializes in commercial, corporate, and securities law, and intellectual property. He also has extensive experience in legal matters relating to the Internet. Mr. Singer has negotiated and drafted a wide range of commercial agreements and corporate documents, and has represented clients in the United States District Court, before the United States Court of Appeals and in petitioning the United States Congress for special legislation.

Mr. Singer also serves as a business consultant advising companies on business development and operational strategies, has represented American companies seeking joint ventures and strategic alliances around the world, and has founded and operated private media companies.

Larry McLinden, Director of Securities and Corporate Compliance

Mr. McLinden has nearly 40 years of business, financial services and legal support experience in many different areas, including over 29 years of experience in the oil & gas and renewable energy sectors, where he was involved in many onshore and offshore energy projects including developmental and exploratory drilling, pipelines, mineral rights leasing, gas marketing, royalty interests, enhanced recovery, solvent extraction technology, oil remediation technology and wind and solar project development. In addition, he has assisted many individual entrepreneurs, broker-dealers, law firms and other business professionals in the areas of deal structuring, securities compliance and other transactional matters.

During the tech boom years of the late 90’s, Mr. McLinden served as principal and a board member of a firm which managed several private venture capital funds with a focus on the high technology, media and communications industries. In the past, he also served as a principal of several southern California based NASD (now known as FINRA) broker-dealers that were involved in stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and public and private offerings including energy, technology, aviation, entertainment, real estate and numerous other syndications. His life story was featured in the TV movie “Thicker Than Blood: The Larry McLinden Story,” which originally aired on CBS in 1994.
