"Founded in 1979 by Alex P. Aven (1929 – 1995), a geologist, the family owned company initially was a place for him and his wife, Camilla (1932 – 1994), to put their small oil and gas interests. In 1980 Alex was fortunate to have been able to hire Mrs. Rutherford who helped the company move into the Gas & Oil property management business in 1985. This aspect of the business has enjoyed a long and successful history of specializing in the management of particularly difficult properties.
In 1993 LeRoy Long (1955 – 2006), an independent geologist, was asked by Alex to join the company as a director. He then agreed to close his exploration office of 17 years in downtown Oklahoma City to launch an Oil and Gas Exploration effort in late 1994 for the Company. Alex Aven's health unfortunately failed him a mere two months into the venture leaving Long and Rutherford to run the company. Mr. Long decided it was of more importance to the family (see ""About us"") to keep the existing business going than it was to have it play second fiddle to an upstart exploration program so Exploration was put on hold for a time. Without Mrs. Rutherford's knowledge, ability, and her excellent staff, it might not have been possible to make this transition. Nevertheless, we have had a prevailing favorable wind behind us since then and feel we have turned an important corner within the Company and have been able to restart our Exploration efforts.

We manage some of the most difficult title in the Mid-continent and take care of wells from 1,800' to over 25,000' deep. References would gladly be furnished to you for your perusal.
